Big Cedar Lodge wanted a split-level, conference center that captured the outstanding views on the hillside of the majestic Table Rock Lake in Ridgedale, MO. The view was the most important selling point for the client as the design team accommodated the project’s programmatic functionality.
A commercial kitchen was included in the design to ensure the facility could support various functions concurrently – the Grand Ballroom and six other smaller function spaces on both levels.
The grand entry's monumental fireplace is crafted with fieldstone and heavy timber. The double-height break out corridor on the lakeside of the Grand Ballroom has a wealth of custom soft seating for visitors to enjoy during breaks from events in the Grand Ballroom the view of Table Rock Lake.
A Rustic Material Palette
The material palette was unique in that it captured the rustic lodge aesthetic that Big Cedar is known for, and utilized a combination of natural and faux materials to keep costs within budget.
All gathering spaces were separated by acoustical, air-walls that allowed the rooms to be individual spaces, or opened up to create larger, single spaces when the moveable partitions were retracted into their recessed storage pockets.
